Now protein if used properly can help you both ways (either weight loss or gain more) and you'll be almost always better off by not using proteins that are produced through Eggs for example will contain more calories than usual and can "help" to increase fat. But the whey protein on the other hand is somewhat accepted as the "king" of all protein substances is one of the best energy supplements that you can consume while trying to stay slim (it contains very low amounts of calories, sugar, etc).
And if you have diabetes (type 1 or type 2) then going to see your doctor for his advice first is a must before choosing foods (including both vegetables and fruits) for your diet. So let's have a look at some of the foods that can help to stay slim.

*. Grapefruit (helps to lower the cholesterol levels) - Includes Vitamin C (if you cook foods that includes Vitamin C for a longer period of times in high temperatures then you're destroying it) and also Pectin which helps to control the greed for food or the apatite in another words.
*. Garlic - Not only Garlic is one of the foods that make you lose weight but also has the ability improve immune systems thus resulting in a faster recovery times (after illnesses) and can protect you against bacterias as well.

Milk - According to some of the studies done by university of Tennessee milk contain metabolic (the process of re-creating of cells, etc in simple terms and consume more fat because fat is the fuel of the body so helps to bun them fast...) stimulation substances which help to loose some body weight. The main substance behind this stimulation is Calcium and they said by drinking 1200 to 1300 mg daily can help you to get the best results (was proved people who take this amounts had twice the fat burning ability than those who didn't).
Milk also has which is capable of lowering insulin levels in your blood after eating foods and the more higher the insulin levels you have after having a meal the more chances of gaining unnecessary weight. So drink some milk.
*. Whole Grain Cereals (not the white and the flavored once but only whole grain type) - This contains fiber which is a great apatite controller. By eating the required amounts of fiber can really help to keep your belly satisfied for a longer period of times. This is in fact (fiber I mean) a very popular substance that can be seen many meal replacement shakes for weight loss type products also.
*. Oats - This is another fiber rich food which does a very similar job to the Whole Grain Cereals.

*. Water - Water is commonly overlooked by many thinking that it just there for the thirst. Water contains zero amounts of calories so more likely a good liquid diet for loosing weight. Not only this plain drink but anything that is closely related to it can also help such as coconut drinks, Watermelon, etc are just to name a few.
